FA06 NOmausoleum. NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA.
This proposal is born of a national competition to design a mausoleum and memorial that would house and honor the 300 unidentified bodies found in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The project would be sited in one of three sites in and around New Orleans cemeteries. Aside from creating a place of remembrance and reflection, this work was to be a beacon of hope for the entire city.
